The High Lords of Terra sat listening to the Dark Angel messenger. After a long period of of what seemed like silence they respond. No,  we will not permit you to wage war on the Space wolves without first investigating these allegations. Send an envoy, Inquisitor Coteaz will visit Fenris and see if there is any truth to these allegations. My Lord, the last time we sent an envoy to Fenris they disappeared, croaks one of the magistrates. Very well, contact High Marshall Helbrect of the Black Templar and arrange an escort of enough strength to ensure their return. Very well my Lord.

High Marshal Helbrect speaks:

Quintas,  I have summoned you here to fulfill your oath to our chapter and our Emperor.  You are to accompany Inquisitor Corteaz to Fenris. If there is any truth to these claims of Heresy you must stamp it out. See that you bring sufficient strength to cleanse the planet if necessary. Quintas: It will be done.

Meanwhile:

On the bridge of The Rock, mobile fortress of the Dark Angels Azrael paces impatiently and turns to the comms officer, "Is there any word when the next Emperor-cursed interference from Terra is set to arrive?" The Changeling answers crisply as any bridge officer across the galaxy would when conversing with a chapter master, "Word has come from Inquisitor Coteaz that he has enlisted the aid of the Black Templars and to expect his arrival shortly, if the warp is calm." Azrael whirls back to the view-port showing Midgardia and the swirling Chaos that envelops it, the warp obviously far from calm in this sector. "There is no time, we must act." As Azrael reaches his decision to begin cleansing Midgardia his attention is distracted momentarily by a cloud of greenish-blue gas in a shape that bewilders the eyes and he shakes his head as it fades into dust.

Well since you included a tribute to Fenris I'll include my favorite Thousand Sons number. It's representative of the legion's past but I'll need to find something more triumphant for when Fenris burns and the wolves lie on the red snow in twisted, mutated, Emperor-forsaken piles.

The Greater Brass Scorpion emerges steaming from the warp forges, machine spirit hungry to taste battle once again. From the shadows comes Ignis, Master of Ruin for the Thousand Sons and member of Ahriman's Exiles. "I think you'll do nicely, yes." Ignis recites the invocatus and the eye lenses of the Scorpion turn blue as it skitters after its new master, bound for a battle where it will serve the designs of Ignis and his allies.

10,000 years after the schism of mars the loyal magi serve the Emperor and the imperium of man.

Mars present day.  Incoming transmission: This is Castellan Quintas of the Black Templar 3rd Crusade. Requesting Titan support for a mission on Fenris to leave right away.

Magi Logarth: "Your humor is illogical, Fenris is controled by the Space Wolves."

Quintas: "This is no jest. There are claims of Heresy. Exterminatus may be necessary."

Magi Logarth: "Castellan Quintas,  this is highly unusual. The waking of a Titan takes time, prayer, and consecration. I have only one Titan awake at this time and it is bound for Ultamar."

Quintas: "Our need is greater, start the process of waking another warhound for Ultramar. I will have the warhound!" transmission terminated.

At the base of the Fang lies a ruined memorial to a former chapter master, Harjek Iron helm. It serves as a warning to the Space Wolves not to follow the machinations of Chaos, for Harjek was nearly the ruin of the entire chapter and indead Fenris itself.

So badly did Harjek wish to destroy Magnus of the thousand sons that he dreamt of his destruction in a far away star system. The dream plagued him night after night until he began to believe it was true. He gathered the might of the Wolves and left Fenris unguarded but for a single company and the chapter's dreadnoughts still in stasis.

Magnus laughed as Harjek's fleet left Fenris for it was a ruse, Magnus had given Harjek the dream. He longed to destroy the Wolves home world as they had his. His forces attacked the Fang before the engine fumes of Harjek's fleet had gone cold.

When the Space wolves at the Fang realized they were under siege they sent a distress message to Harjek's fleet. As luck would have it there was another former chapter master at the Fang that day. They woke Bjorn the fellhanded from stasis. Sensing the danger Bjorn quickly sprang to action and took command. The attackers were no match for Bjorn's fury,  Magnus was enraged that this single dreadnought could keep him from his vengeance. He must be dealt with. Magnus took shape in the mortal world though it took much of his energy to do so. Bjorn knew Magnus as he had stood along with Leman Russ the Space Wolve's Pimarch when the two battled long ago.  He attacked Magnus with all his strength. Magnus was taken back by the powerful attacks of such a puny creature. As they battled recognition entered Magnus' mind,  he knew this creature though his form had changed his soul was familiar to him. As this dawned on Magnus his anger grew hot. He ripped one of Bjorn's arms off and threw it off the mountain. He grabbed Bjorn and raised him over his head to do the same when a drop pod hit the side of the mountain some few feet away, causing him to drop Bjorn at his feet. It was Harjek. He had received the distress signal and understood his folly. The fleet made haste to return to Fenris and had arrived just in time. Magnus was enraged beyond belief. Harjek clad in terminator armor became his release as he hammered him over and over. Harjek was not going to give up so easily broken and near death he wounded Magnus mortally. Magnus cried out in anger and pain as his mortal form began to fade back into the warp. "I will be back, Fenris will burn and the Fang will be dust. "

Bjorn's wounds healed all but one. He erected the memorial not only to remind the Wolves of the danger of Chaos, but as a punishment of Harjek, now long dead. It is said some spit on his corpse, others laugh at his folly. What is certain is they do not respect his tomb, as it is now in ruin.

Magnus turns as Ignis  enters his sanctum and regards him with contempt, "Was that skittering arachnid the most you could muster for our invasion?" Ignis bows his head calmly, seeing only the patterns of ruin that give him his title, "I am your humble servant lord but my resources are limited." Magnus appraises Ignis for a moment before turning to the vista behind him and focusing as the surface of the Planet of the Sorcerors begins to shape itself to his will, "I will show you what is a worthy offering for the razing of Fenris". Intricate arcane sigils begin forming in the earth of the planet and the native denizens flee the site of such a great ritual. "I shall bring the Malleus Verum to bear on these upstart dogs".
