Battletech: Alpha Strike
Hey all I am the current Catalyst game Agent for the Colorado springs area. I love playing Battletech and Alpha strike. I am looking to drum up some interest back into this fantastic game with a rich history which rivals Game of Thrones. Most agree its the Game of Thrones of the Sci-Fi genre.
So If you would like to get a demo game in Battletech or even to come down the next time a game is going on, let me know. Btw I also have a lot of mechs and can easily loan you some minis for a game.
"So there I was, between a rock and a hard place, when I thought 'What am I doing on this side of the rock?' -Star Commander Karra, Clan Ghost Bear
"Congratulations, Cadet you have successfully demonstrated the ability to do what I tell you to. I like that. My dog does what I tell her to. I like my dog. I should introduce you to each other. Remind me to do that." Mechwarrior 2: Drill Instructor.
I am also an Battletech Agent in the area. If there is interest in the Solaris 7 Campaign Style (the version run at Origins and GenCon) games I would love to run a season. The run down for the Solaris 7 ruleset is that players create a pilot and then through battle in various Solaris 7 arenas buy new skills and mechs. The ruleset we would work with would be a work in progress for the sets to be used at next year's Origins and GenCon, I also have tons of minis and maps, so I can provide every we need, just gimme a heads up if there is interest.
I'll let you know, we have two other players in the area trying to set something up. The more players the merrier!
In the interim, do you have access to a computer running Java? There's a great program out there for free called Solaris Skunk Werks ( http://www.solarisskunkwerks.com/) that has most of the record sheets you would need for all the mechs available in the introductory box set. This includes introductory models, advanced, and experimentals. For Alpha Strike, one of the best resources is the Master Unit List ( http://www.masterunitlist.info/), which has an Alpha Strike card generator and force generator for creating lances.
Finally, and as always, there's www.sarna.net for all the mech fluff you could ever want.
