I just moved into the area and was curious if anyone here played any 6mm or 15mm miniature games. For instance, in the 6mm range, I like the Horizon Wars system as well as the Robotech RPG Tactics game. I used to play micro armor back in the day, but haven't done that lately. At the 15mm size, I have the Gruntz, Striker, Hammer's Slammers, and a few other systems. (Used to love Napoleonics, but have not see anyone play that in years). The last place I lived wasn't a big gaming area so I have a bunch of stuff, but not much actual table time. I'd like to change that if possible.

Wes,

welcome to the springs!  I don't play at the haven much anymore, but I have piles of smaller scale historical miniatures.  There's a group that plays 15mm napoleonics using napoleons battles rules about once a month at the police station off of academy and Kelly Johnson blvd.  The next game that's planned is for 9 Sept I believe.  Let me know if you're interested, as we're looking for new nappies players.  People also play a lot of other games as well.

I know there's a good following of flames of war and team yankee that meets on Sundays at the store if that interests you.

Wow, I'm pretty impressed that 15mm Napoleonics is still a thing. I happen to have the Napoleon's Battles ruleset jammed in a box somewhere. It's been so long, I'd have to relearn from scratch, not to mention I'd need to kit out an entirely new army. (Which is not a problem...) Let me check my schedule on Monday, but I think I'm in the area on 9 Sept.  At the least, I'd like to stop buy and meet the group.

That would be great!  Hopefully you're free.  I believe that we're fighting Ligny on the 9th, and there should be plenty of room to have you run a command.

Our group has modified NB to play with hexes, which I've found makes it much easier to pick up and it plays pretty quickly.  We will have all the miniatures we need, but I'd love to see your miniatures.

My schedule looks generally open. I'd just like to come by, meet some of the group, and loiter for a bit. I did manage to find my rule set, which was nothing short of a miracle. I was on the verge of hitting ebay to find a "new" copy. Unfortunately, I don't have any miniatures anymore. I sold those off a couple of decades ago. This just gives me an excuse to get more.

If I ever get stationed back in C-Springs again, I'll have to hook up with the CSGA again.  I miss playing Napoleonics.

I'd be very interested as well. I've 6mm ancients for Impetus/Hail Caesar , 10mm Crusades for the same sets, 6mm ECW for Barouqe and a 6mm Blucher Austrian Army.

I'm about to start in on 3mm for Rommel.

Mckinstry, we definitely need to get together then.  I have 15mm armies for impetus and hail Caesar, and 6mm British and French for Blucher.  If you are free on the ninth of Sept, it would be great to have you over at the historical club.  I'll post the address and start times when it gets closer.

I'm always looking to see some smaller scale games played. I think they have a great "spectacle" aspect that lend well to having onlookers. Eventually I would really like to dig into the Gruntz ruleset and give it a shot.

Let me know when you want to give Gruntz a go... I have the rule set and a good amount of 15mm stuff. (Not much is painted, but I'm working on that.)

The historical club meets at 7850 Goddard street off of north academy every Saturday.  It's the Colorado Springs police falcon subdivision.  It has a community room inside.  Usually folks get started about 6 to 6:30 pm, and tonight people are playing 15mm ACW and 28mm ww2.  We were supposed to do 15mm napoleonics, but had to reschedule.  I'll be there tonight if anyone can stop by.

I'm in the middle of a project as of 5:30 and that is looking tough to make. I will be at Haven tomorrow about noon if you want to compare notes.

Sorry, I didn't have enough time to finish up what I was doing. Any idea what is going on next Saturday?

Wes,

we should try to schedule some Gruntz for sometime in the second half of October. I have been looking for a way to recycle my Halo Ground Command miniatures into a better ruleset, so I could jump in almost immediately.
