-------- Early M41, Haven Hive
In one of the common areas of the lower hab blocks, an ancient old woman sits, resting her old bones and accepting offerings from her community. For a credit or two, she tells stories of Haven Hive's long history. There are two stories she tells for free, and she tells both quietly: The time she witnessed an Astartes warrior up close, and the cleansing of Haven. Just over one hundred years ago when Lord-Governor Morfax declared war against the great gangs of Haven hive.

Governor Morfax's only heir had gotten himself involved with the Clans, and fancied himself somthin' different, playing at being a powerful underhive Clan lord. The foolish noble boy annoyed and aggravated the clans and gangs. His efforts largely ignored by his father until one day he disappeared. The lord of Haven organized a massive search, and his anger and madness evolved with his grief when evidence of the boy's death was found in the territory of house Hephaestus (A manufacturing house) The houses and gangs bickered, lobbied, brokered and lawyered, endlessly debating the authenticity of the evidence or whether it had been placed as a ploy by a rival house.  Justice would be buried under the bureaucratic and diplomatic sump heap that Morfax found himself wading in.

He turned his PDF against the gangs and houses. Nobody expected it. Nobody believed it, and that surprise cost us deeply. Leaders were assassinated and gangers ambushed. The gangs reacted too slow, but gathered their bearings and used their advantages of home terrain and urban tactics to fight for survival, prolonging what would likely have been a very short conflict. Workers and others were caught in the collateral damage as the conflict dragged on, but with the help of a redirected Astra Militarum jungle fighting unit (The
1917
th Fire Dogs) the gangs were burned out or exiled deep into the hive bottom or ash wastes. It was the unlawful request to divert Astra Militarum forces that they say caused the Administratum to intervene and order the removal of the Governor from power. As though destabilizing an entire hive was not enough? No one ever found out what really happened to the boy. The ghosts of that conflict haunt us even 100 years after the conflict began, and now a new generation of Hive Gangs has begun to emerge, hoping to establish themselves as new clans in Hive Haven.
----------

Welcome to the Hive:
-Multipart branching narrative campaign.
-Introductory level of complexity to get new players involved with Necromunda

Word has gotten around that a recent cave in has opened access to a portion of the hive that has been inaccessible for centuries. Territorial control and salvage rights are now in dispute for the Gangs of Haven Hive. The scavengers that found the access point have gone into hiding to avoid the attention it might bring them as Hive Gangs seek them out or search for information regarding this valuable access point elsewhere.

You will need:
-Copies of the Necromunda rulebook and Gang War supplement.
-A 1000pt gang, created using the rules from pg14 of Gang War and the Legacy lists downloadable on the Necromunda Website. With wysiwyg (What you see is what you get) models. (preferably painted) Including additional models you might recruit over the course of the campaign.
-Gang record sheet, pencil, dice, tape measure, etc.
-If anyone has terrain, additional terrain would be most welcome.

This campaign takes place in a Hive city of my creation, which will be molded by the actions and events of this campaign. You must use lists as per above, however you are welcome to use "counts as" rules to customize or convert your gang and make it your own. Existing Necromunda gangs will be considered distant cousins of the Necromunda Equivalent. Customized gangs should still be GW miniatures.

This is a Casual Narrative campaign, and as such you can expect plot twists and uneven battles. If you come expecting a fair and balanced competitive experience you may not leave satisfied, but if you are interested in experiencing the trials and travails of hive scum in the cold, unforgiving depths of industrial wasteland, were life is cheap and bad things happen on the daily, this might be up your alley. (This is no excuse to game the system or be a power gamer either.  Please be respectful of the spirit of the event and put story and fun for all first. Crazy and unexpected things could happen, and they could make life difficult for your gang. Don't be afraid to Bottle out when the drek hits the turbine.

More information will be available soon.

Dammit Ed, I can't play anymore games! You had to go and make this super interesting didn't you. I will think about this after I am done with the escalation league.

Looking forward to Thursday to talk to everyone and get some practice in! If you would like to help make these events a success, here are a few things you can do:
-Bring the contents of the box set and any terrain you might like to use.  We will ideally use as much 3d terrain as we can, but will need as much terrain as we can get!
-Post and subscribe to this thread. I will use it to provide updates and rules, updating the original post as needed. (Have your friends do this too!)
-Have some fun making up names and stories for you gangers. You don't have to be too elaborate but think about your gang's values and history, as well as what they want to achieve.  It will help you make easier choices during the campaign day.
-Get to know the rules and the majority of scenarios from both books. Get some practice in if you can. The more knowledgeable more of us are, the better off we all are.
